Zürs am Arlberg is a very unique ski resort at an altitude of 1,720m above sea level with history and tradition.

There are numerous slopes at walking distance running through this small village. This place is truly a ski-in to your hotel at its best.

Zürs am Arlberg lies in the heart of Vorarlberg, near the border to Tirol, imposed in a mountain wonderland. If the rocks could talk the tales of history would capture the imagination of all and it is said that the scale of winter sport begins here. The first ski course left their tracks in the snow here in 1906 and the first ski-school was initiated in 1925.

Today Zürs am Alberg is a charming little ski village, its highly reputable among skiers all around the world, and at the same time a place visited by the likes of hikers to the culturally inclined, families, sun worshipers, gourmets, and sommeliers. From December to the end of April Zürs offers a vast array of things to do while catering to very diverse interest. The high altitude guarantees snow through the entire ski season.

Ski School Founded in 1906

The first ski lessons took place on these slopes over 100 years ago. Certainly times have changed and so has the sport, but the terrain you ski on today is the same one that inspired those early pioneers to spread the word about alpine skiing to the United States and Japan. When the Ski Club Arlberg was founded in 1901, a handful of instructors couldn’t have imagined that people would one day fly across the world to experience for themselves the idea that united them.

This rich tradition of excellent ski guiding is one of the things that makes Zürs a truly unique place to ski.
